Today we are welcoming back Tina Meyer for the third part of our conversation on reflexology, body work, and self-care. In this episode, Tina shares more about her journey with Healing Touch, her experience with massage, Thai massage, Reiki, aromatherapy, and reflexology, and why she believes self-care tools can support us between professional sessions. She also guides us through a simple reflexology practice for relaxation and low back support, giving us a little preview of what's possible when we learn how to listen to the body through the hands, feet, and ears.

SPEAKER_00

So let's dive in. Welcome to Healers Talk Healing, the podcast from Miracles Ultimate Wellness Resources. I'm Lynn Harrod Diverges.

SPEAKER_01

Our goal is simple to help you learn, experience, and connect in ways that support your unique journey. Thank you for being here. And let's dive into today's conversation. And I know in speaking to before, and I guess we'll just start. So we're excited to be back with Tina Meyer today. And yes, it looks like we're missing somebody. Unfortunately, Lynn couldn't be with us today, but it's me and you, babe. And I think we'll be okay. Tina Nina team. Yeah, that's right, Tina and Nina, right? Maybe we should take over, right? And just like it'll be the Tina and Nina show. Well, there you go. I have a feeling Lynn's not going to be pleasant with that. She's missing a good idea. Oh my gosh. I'm so glad we were already chit-chatting. As I say this, I think every single time we record, but you know, we always do a little preamble and then it gets good. And thank God we're already recording. So we can just continue to move forward in our conversation. There's so much that you shared in the past

Touch, Catalysts, And Being A Safe Place

SPEAKER_01

couple of episodes, but there's some like, I want to get to know some more, some more juicy details, as they say. Um you know, I think one of the things that not I think one of the things that you shared when you're when you're I think when you really understood um that touch was an important thing to you was when um your sister, it was your sister, right? That was, you know, providing that uh that space for you. You know how had that, how has that uh relationship with touch progressed over time? And where are some of those key stories where you're like, ah, yes, this is this is it, you know? And the reason I'm asking is like I've had some key points in my life. I never thought I would become a Reiki master. I never thought I would be a life coach. I was always that person who thought I was going to be in the corporate world. But then there was these little key points and little tidbits. And since this podcast is not about me, I'm not sharing those here. But this is about you, and I'd love to hear what that, you know, how the dots have connected for you over the years.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay. Um, well, as I had mentioned in the previous one, you know, in a very early age at 13, um, is when, you know, I had my feet rubbed by my sister, my sweet dear sister, and um that sparked something in me. And then as I mentioned, also just you know, always being a touchy-feely person, always hugging. Um, you know, I'm one of those people that touches you when I talk to you and all of that. And then I've become, you know, I was um brought into this wonderful world of of body work and massage and energy work and now reflexology. And it's just um grown and grown, and it's it's offered me so many different opportunities.

SPEAKER_01

And um it's it's actually kind of hard for me to talk about myself in really little feeling because you know, um to like you know, we're just gonna be vulnerable and share here. Sometimes it is hard to get to those places to remember like this exact moment or you know, get that place. But I believe everyone that I have spoken to, anyone, whether it's on a recording or it's just in networking or it's just in life in general, there's always these little catalysts, these little things that pop up along the way. So then maybe I will share a little bit and it'll you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. It's like I was always kind of like that go-to person in my group of influence, I'd say over years. I'm gonna say group of influence because it's happened over the years where it's like you know, people would come to me for sage advice. I'm gonna say sage because I'm like sage for that age. Do you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

That age when you're 15. I don't know how much sage advice you can give. But as you get older, the the I think the advice becomes more sage-y, but I was always that person. I remember one time my girlfriends, I don't remember, it was like maybe 15 years ago. We were talking in the car, and my childhood friends are like, You're our Oprah. And I was like, Yeah, I want to be your Oprah, I want to be your safe place where you can land, you know, and and and I took psychology in school. I actually went to school for business and very well in math. And then I thought, okay, well, what did I do well in? I did well in psychology. I've always been interested in what people makes people tick because I had such a an dramatic abusive background. It always was, I was just curious, what would have someone do something, think that way? What would what happens in life? And kind of that led me on, okay, these all these different little journeys along the way. So I think what I'm I'm looking for is those little secret nugget things that happen along the way. It's like, yeah, oh, people are always coming to me. Or, you know, sometimes I know friends of mine would uh a friend of mine was sharing that uh that I actually have grown up with in high school. She's like, I always felt like I I would touch someone and it would it would like be healing, and she became a nurse. So that makes sense, right? That kind of led her into that direction. So I guess that's kind of like those little things that we're looking

What Clients Feel During Bodywork

SPEAKER_01

for to help us really get to know you.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Well, actually, I just had one of those moments today. I just had a one of my um normal clients, my regular clients come in, and she just said to me that she feels that when I give her a massage, that I'm giving part of me to her. That you know, when she she and she can feel that exchange, that energetic exchange. So um it's just you know, she's always so appreciative of it, of it. She actually has a pretty good uh case of fibromyalgia. And so she's a lot of times inflamed. So the massages have to be, you know, I have to be really conscientious in regards to how how much pressure I'm giving her, what I'm doing, be careful of certain areas and all of that, because there's a lot of pain involved. But um, it was just she said it during the massage while I was giving it. And I know we're talking about reflexology, but it they all it seems like for you, you have a beautiful toolbox that you get to use. I do, I really am fortunate. Um, and but she was just, you know, so she says it when she's on the table, just that she can really feel that what I'm giving her helps her become more conscientious about her own self-care and her own self-healing. So by me giving her these sessions, that it helps bring her back to realize okay, I need to take good care of myself. And um, and she says it's a direct link with what I give to her. And then again, when she left this afternoon, she said again that she can just really feel that I am giving a part of myself in each session with her. That was kind of a cool thing to hear.

SPEAKER_01

That is that is it's it's and you do like we do as healers, we while we are vessels, but I like and massage therapy is more than I would say more than just like a transfer of energy. There's there's a lot more in there, and even um like even with reflexology and all the different tools and things that you use, um but like I guess what I what I'd be interested in is what was that like the very first moment you were like, yes, yeah, this this is yeah, this is exactly where I need to be. Because I know we talked about you're sitting in the in the in the cubicle and you're like, am I gonna be doing this the rest of my life? No, this is not it. And I can I get that because I think at some point I felt the same way. And you know, in the in the journey, something happened and someone said, Hey, what you should try life coaching. You're really good at what you do, and you should, you know, transfer your supervision and all the way you supervise into this path. And I was like, when I got to the class, and I swear in the first two hours of the morning, I was like, Oh my god, this yes, this this is yes,

When Massage School Felt Like Home

SPEAKER_01

right.

SPEAKER_03

It was I probably it probably started when I went to school for the first time and you know, walked into the classroom and uh just started listening to the teacher lecture and just everything that he was saying. We always started each day with Tai Chi, so that was pretty cool. And just everything that I was learning, I was just eating it up. I just wanted to learn more and more and more. Um and I just, you know, every instance of learning, and then it's also not just learning in the school, it's just learning, you know, with my clients. Just every time I have an exchange with my clients, there's not every single time, but for the most part, there's always a moment of where yes, this is what I'm supposed to do. Actually, a good thought that just came into my head is um, and I may have said this at one point, my husband is retired, has been retired. It'll be five years this November, and I am of retirement age. How that happened, I have no clue. Here I am. But thank goodness I am here. Thank God I am here. But so in my mind, you know, there's been thoughts of, you know, do I want to retire, retire? And I just don't think I can ever retire from what I'm doing. I just I really don't think I can. And I just I get so excited when I read something, an article, or if I hear about another modality, or just like this weekend I taught, I taught my reflexology class, and it just gives me such joy to be able to stand in front of a class and share my passion and watch them get excited over something that I'm so excited about and that I love so much. So it's just there's always those little hits that that come at you when when I'm doing this, or just to see um, you know, see the the relief in somebody, see them come walking through the door and they're a little beat up. And when they walk back out, they're they're they have a smile on their face, they're relaxed, their shoulders are down, they have a more, you know, the look on their face is more serene. So it's those moments that that make me so thankful that I'm able to do what it is that I'm able to do. And I just um like I bringing it back to the retirement, I just I don't know. I just feel like I'm going to be doing this forever. I just don't, I just couldn't, I couldn't imagine my life without doing massage or reflexology or teaching. I just I I love doing it all.

SPEAKER_01

And I that really makes for someone who for the person who is on the table receiving that, it makes it so such a joyful, and I'm saying joyful because of the you know, the results that you get when you are on the table for reflexology. The and and we talked about it's not just physical, there's the mental and the emotional piece as well, and just to be a part of someone's healing journey, however that shows up, you know, it's different for for everyone. And I love the fact, and we talked, we've we've touched upon it a few different times in in in our different conversations about multiple modalities and having all of the different tools that you use. Um, and I think I'm gonna I'm gonna list them off from memory. There's aromatherapy, there is reflexology, of course, then there is um massage, and there's reiki. That's for

Thai Massage Basics And Thailand Trip

SPEAKER_01

is there anything else we don't know that we've missed?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, well, I also do Thai massage, so Thai massage is a complete different modality of let's talk a little bit about that.

SPEAKER_01

Let's just get to know you a little bit more, all the sides of Tina.

SPEAKER_03

All the sides of me. Um, well, let's see. In 2001, I was um that was nine, that was when 9-11 happened, right? In 2001. I believe so, yes. Yeah. So I was going to school at an at another massage school, and I was taking um, I had already taken a few Thai massage classes from this lovely lady, and we were on the phone one night talking, and she said, Yeah, well, I'm gonna be going to Thailand and um to to lead a class. And I'm like, Well, I'm gonna go with you because it sounds exciting. So I went with her for three weeks, and the reason I brought up 9-11 is because we literally one, I wanted to get the date right, and then um we literally went like not even a month after 9-11. So it was a little scary to go to Thailand that soon, but it was actually very safe. Um, so I went to Thailand for three three weeks and um learned I already knew how to do the Thai massage, but so much different learning it in the actual country in which it is, which it comes from. Right. Um that was really exciting. And um, and it's it's another modality that I teach. And I do it, it's not one of my top, um it's not one of the top things that I do. I I it's probably one of the least modalities that I do, although I do bring some of the time massage into my regular massage. And the difference between traditional massage and time massage is one, the biggest difference is the client is clothed and you're usually on the floor. Uh, some time massage places will actually have like they have this big low-to-the-ground, big square table, but because it that represents the ground for them, because we're basically we're working with our knees, our elbows, our hands, our feet. We might sit on them. It's a very interactive modality, and it has a lot to do with stretching and compression. So it's yeah, there's usually no oil involved traditionally. Um, and it's just it's more it's more compression and a lot of stretching. It can be it can be referred to as lazy man's yoga or yoga for two, because it's just you know, you get into an assisted stretch.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, very, very cool. See, I didn't know that. I've see now that you're talking about it, I think. Oh no, I've had time massage. No, no, no, I haven't. It's different. I've what I've experienced is being on the table, and then the lady gets up on the, you know, they have like those bars on the ceiling. Yes, yeah. Uh-huh. Hold on to the bar and do whatever I don't know what they're doing, their knees, their feet. I have no clue. I just know it feels really great.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's their feet. It I've had it done myself too. I forget the name of it, but it is a really cool modality. I unfortunately don't do that, but I wish they did. But um, and I learned more of the northern style uh uh Thai massage versus the uh southern style, which I think the southern is a little more aggressive, where the the northern is a little bit more um gentle, if you will. We still get it there and stuff, but it's not like a lot of times people say, Oh my gosh, I got a time massage, and I, you know, felt beat up after, but this is a little bit more gentle.

SPEAKER_01

Well, let's be honest, sometimes you want to be a little beat up so everything gets uh loosened up afterwards, right? I mean, I mean, not that beat up, but there have been some times when I've had some, you know, massage therapy and it's deep tissue and there are some bruises, and you know, it happens, it happens. And speaking of different, like different parts, right? You said like you learn

Reflexology Methods, Research, And Blends

SPEAKER_01

northern and there's southern. Is there is there the same type of or sorry, are there different methodologies or or schools of thinking inside of reflexology? Because I know there is in Reiki, there's the norm the UC Reiki, and then there's like fire Reiki and a few other forms that you can use in different symbols. It does it, is there the same thing within the reflex reflexology community?

SPEAKER_03

There is, there's um different schools that teach it, there's different um um, I want to say methods, different um, like Eunice Ingum. Um, she was one of the great reflexologists, and her her nephew Dwight Byers, there's they have their Ingum method, and I learned through Bill Floco, and I learned his method. And so those were kind of like two of the great um method methodologies, if you will, that people follow. Um to be honest, there's it's just different thoughts, different, you know, they they just have their ways of teaching, they have their their theories. Ultimately, it comes down to the same thing. We're relaxing the body, we're we're helping people um achieve homeostasis, you know, get their bodies back into homeostasis, um, helping them heal their bodies through reflexology and all of that. Um right now it's kind of a cool um time to be in in reflexology because a lot of people are combining different modalities with reflexology. So there's you've heard of cranial sacral massage, and now there's cranial-sacral reflexology. There's uh reflexology for lymphatic drainage. There's um some people that that incorporate essential oils into their reflexology practice. So it's an um, what else have I heard? Just um and then there's this reflexology for different like people have their specialty, just like massage or psychotherapists that have their own little niche. Some people go into you know different areas, marriage marriage therapy or child development therapy. It's the same thing kind of with reflexologists right now. They're they're doing like um maybe I know this one gal that's doing trauma and addiction reflexology, and um uh um there's nerve regeneration, somebody's taking on, which is very cool. Um, there's a lot of studying being on being held right now with uh through MRI machines, um, having the client be in an MRI machine while they're having reflexology done and they're seeing how everything is being changed.

SPEAKER_01

I know you were you were sharing that in one of our previous episodes. So if you want to learn more about that, you should go and listen to those episodes. But I think um what's in what is so cool is that um there I don't think enough of us, I'm gonna say enough of us because I'm gonna talk about my circle of influence, that we understand that there are different methodologies inside the inside of reflexology. And I don't think that we knew because you explained it in one of our in the previous episode about the different areas in which you you use either hands or both hands, ears, feet. You you went you know pretty um detailed into how all of that works. And I think it's important for our listeners to understand that this is what I'm getting that you can get similar results across different modalities. Is am I correct on that?

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely, absolutely so. Uh are you talking about like combining the the modalities?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well what I'm what I'm actually getting at here is like say I'm coming to you and you do one specific modality, which let's just say it's reflexology, and I am coming for stress release. Um, you know, there there might be some PTSD sitting in my body. I'm just trying to think about my own stuff. You know, things are sitting in my body somatically. I have, you know, the I have the top three wonderful diseases that ever that most South Asian people have, which is diabetes, I have um high blood pressure, and I have cholesterol. So there's there's all of that. Now um, if I have when I have all those things, I kind of want to address everything. And I keep hearing from people that other practitioners as well, that a lot of what I have is not just what I'm eating, there's the stress involved, there's

Deciding Between Massage And Reflexology

SPEAKER_01

the the the DNA of a South Asian woman there in there. There's many different modalities I can use to help me absolutely with those different things. And of course, there's obviously also Western medicine, which is the medications that I take. So I guess my question is now I feel like I was rambling. I guess my question is, you know, if I I can come to you and I can have some of those issues addressed based on our conversations before. Like I didn't know you could come and have reflexology for stress, anxiety, trauma. I had no idea. You know, diabetes, cholesterol, yes. Yeah, like not no clue. I would have thought, okay, well, for diabetes, you go see your doctor, they give you medication, they tell you eat right, do these things, go for a walk, exercise, but I had no idea. Uh-huh. And so I think that what I'm trying to get at and what I'm highlighting here for our listeners is that to open up your mind and learn more. And this is why I'm so excited to have you here, because I've we haven't had a chance to go like that deep into those conversations around reflexology, the different methodologies, and also that massage can help. The reason why I'm saying this to you is because you have so many modalities. Massage can help also with obviously we all know with stress, but I didn't know about trauma release through massage. I didn't know that. I thought through movement, I understood through like a lot through movement, but not through massage, even aromatherapy. Okay, Reiki, I understand because I'm a Reiki master, and then you move energy from you know, when energy is stuck and help balance the energy centers that get impacted by all those things. Um, how do you determine when somebody comes, like say somebody comes to you and says, I am coming to you for this, but then you're like, Well, I think you might benefit more from this. Right. What are those conversations like?

SPEAKER_03

Well, uh, there was um, give me a second. There was a client that came to me just recently, and I'm trying to think of what her problems were. Um, I think it was just the anxiety, and I think she's got major anxiety issues. And she came to me and she kind of wanted to do like a a half-half, a combo of massage and reflexology. But when I gave her the I gave her the, I gave her, I always start with reflexology if I'm going to do a combo, and then onto the massage. But after that session, she just fell so in love with the reflexology. She's all I want just the reflexology the next time. So she's come to me a few times, and it's just been the reflexology because she just has been noticing how much more benefits she gets from the reflexology. And she even said, she goes, you know, I love the massage, you know, you get your muscles massaged and worked out and all that. She goes, but I just go to a complete different place. So she gets yeah, she gets kind of she gets the same kind of results with that. And and me, I can attest to that also. I I mean, as I have said before, massage is my first love, and I love getting massage. I want you to uh get in there and all of that. But when I get my reflexology session, and it took me a while to get my head out of it's like, no, but you're not rubbing my back. I want my back, I'm not gonna feel that. So it took a while for me to get out of that head thought when I was getting reflexology to realize, oh, you know what? I am totally feeling my muscles relax, the pain in my neck dissipate, you know, my stress level going down and all of that. So with the reflexology session. Um, and then there's times when, you know, in regards to how would I direct somebody if they're coming to me for massage, it's just one of those things that they're coming to me for massage, and I just I'll I'll just say, you know what, I really feel like you'll benefit if we add some reflexology into this. So I just it's just the reflexology is just so powerful that even though I believe in massage 100%,

Invite To The Self-Care Workshop

SPEAKER_03

I just feel that if we add massage or reflexology in there, that they're gonna get a more profound session.

SPEAKER_01

That is wonderful. And that that's what as you were speaking, I'm like, well, aren't we lucky that you are going to be facilitating a workshop for us? And that will help us to learn how we can do this on our own. I still think you should still go see a professional. That's like I said, I still think you need to see a professional every now and again. You know, like I can get I can dye my own hair, but it doesn't look this good unless I'm going the professional to do it. I agree. So I just, you know, I want to remind our listeners that you are, and of course, I'm gonna pull out my handy dandy calendar. Yes, I still have one I write in because you know I'm old school that way. You know, on August the 16th, you will be facilitating a self-care um reflexology workshop. And I really highly, highly, highly recommend our listeners and you know, and all their friends to check it out. Because number one, first of all, this is what Tina teaches. So don't forget that. It's it's not just sharing from the practitioners, practitioner standpoint, which is wonderful. There's nothing wrong with that, but also you've got years and years of experience teaching people how to do this for other people. So why not get it from the expert, the professional who can give you a little more information about reflexology and all the different things. I know you talked about it. Um, we talked about it in one of our previous episodes. And today we were going to do like a small little smidgen, a little, a little something, something, something to get to give to the people to so you know, we want to leave you wanting more. Right? We want you to come and visit us for 90 minutes on August the 16th, 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 2 p.m. Um Pacific Time. And if you're not sure what time that is in your time zone, I'm just gonna say, go on Google, get a time, go put in the time and figure out the time zone so you uh when you register, you will be on time. But I'm gonna give it back over to you, Tina, so you can do the part that I know you love doing, and one of the things you love doing is teaching. So why don't you give us something a little little a little snack? A little snack of what I'll be showing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um well, basically what self-care reflexology is, is just exactly what it sounds like. It's you're gonna be doing reflexology on yourself. And the beauty with that is is that you don't have to wait for an appointment. So a lot of times, you know, it's like I have I have pain in my neck or I have a headache right now, and I want to have it taken care of, and we may not be available. So the beauty behind the self-care is that you have the availability to do it right then and there on your on your own. So I'm just gonna pick something that's common amongst all of us, um, and that is low back pain. It's I'm gonna do two little things. I'm gonna do a relaxation technique, and then I'm gonna do low back pain. So I'm gonna do the relaxation point um on your ears, and then I'm gonna do uh reflexology on your um hand, even though it's cut. Well, I'm not gonna go into all that. We're gonna do that. I can keep on going. Oh no, you gotta leave them one anymore. Oh no, I know. Come to the come to the um the workshop. Yeah, absolutely. I'll give you some more. Um, so to

Try Point Zero And Low Back

SPEAKER_03

start, let's just um with our ears. There's mass what's called master points. So there's five master points. So I'm going to guide us to what's called um zero point. And my ear is right, my big ear is right over there. Can I go grab it really quick? Okay, just one moment. Just right here. So we have an ear. And what I want you guys oh boy, what I want you to do is maybe that won't maybe that's not gonna work with my screen being um blurred. What I want you to do is find the top of your ear. And I want you to follow the top of your ear all the way down into your ear, your ear, um not canal, but these these crevices in your ear here. And there's a you can feel the you can feel the cartilage. It's a it's a um tight little cartilage in there. And if you follow with your finger along that cartilage, almost to the end, back up a little bit, and you might feel a little divot in there. So when you find that divot, you're going to just take the tippy tippy part of your finger and you're gonna place it on that little divot. And and Nina's doing it perfect with both ears. If you're sitting at a table, you can just gently place your elbows on the table. You want your elbows to be relaxed, and once you've found that point, the zero point, it's one of our great relaxing points. Helps our body to relax, it helps with anxiety and panic and all of that. You can close your eyes and you can start bringing breath in. So you can take some nice deep breaths, and you're not pushing really hard on this point. You're there's it's just a uh nice pressure. It's not you're not trying to push your fingers together uh hard into your ears. It's just a nice pressure, and you can just hold this point and take nice big deep breaths and think happy thoughts. Happy calm breath. Or happy calm thoughts. And just notice how your body is changing. Maybe just on your own your breath has started to slow. And perhaps just on your own you've noticed your shoulders dropping. And that you're feeling a great sense of relaxation. This is called point zero. It's a good point to to use for relaxation. So with that, just go ahead and just gently pull your fingers away from your ears. And how do you feel, Nina?

I was like, wow, that was quick, Tina. Yeah, first of all, my brain was like, but my nails are too long. Am I gonna be able to do this? And then I'm like, let I let go of that, and I continue to do it, and immediately I felt the release right here. And then when you said close your eyes and breathe, I if you gave me five more minutes, I might have fallen asleep.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, it's one of those points that when I do, um, when I am doing it with my clients, I can I can feel their whole body just sink, and then their breath starts to change. And pretty soon what I they do what I call blowing bubbles are so I love it when they get to that point. Actually, this weekend in in class, um, students most all the students, you know, during the feet part and the hand part of the of the class, everybody was coherent and they're kind of gently chit-chatting and stuff. But when it came to the ear demonstrated, or when they got to practice the ear part, it just quiet in the room. And then you can hear everybody just their whole breathing changes. So it's the ears are just so powerful, they're just they bring you down. Not that the hands and the feet aren't, but there's just something magical about the ears.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was quick. Like that drop was really quick. I was surprised. Nice, I love it. I was surprised how quick that was. I'm like, okay, well, don't fall asleep because you know you still gotta talk.

SPEAKER_03

And then the other part that I'll show you in a real brief reflexology lesson is um the hands and the feet are the same in regards to um the mapping. So reflexology has maps of our whole complete body that are, if you will, superimposed on our feet, our hands, and our and our outer ears. Um, I'll get more into that detail in the workshop, but just a real brief uh reflexology lesson. This when you put your hands together, there's this midpoint of the two thumbs being together. And it's the same with the feet. When you bring your feet up and they're together, there's that midpoint or where they're big, where your big toes are and goes down. So that midpoint represents your spinal column of in your body, and it it starts with your cervical spine up here, goes down into your thoracics, and then it goes down into the lumbar, sacrum, and um coccyx bone. So your spinal column is represented here, and as promised, I said we're going to do some reflexology on the lower back, which is located in this area of your of your hand. So you're just gonna take your working hand, you're gonna relax your hand that we're working on. Your working hand's gonna just kind of come and support it behind the wrist. Your thumb's gonna come kind of right where you feel those little bones on the corner of your hand. And you're just we're gonna do what's called a thumb roll. And I don't expect you to get the thumb roll perfect right now, but basically what it is is you're just gonna take the tip of your thumb and push it in and then just release that pressure and then push it in and release the pressure and release, yeah, push in and release, and by doing that, you're slowly inching your way up. Yeah, so it's this kind of your your thumb just naturally goes up a little bit. So we're only gonna go up to about right there because we're just focusing on the lower back reflex points, and then you can come back down and you can go through that same path, reflexing through that same path. That looks really good, Nina. You are studying you, and if you feel a little sore spot in there, you can stop and kind of dig your thumb in there. There is, it's so sore in here. That's it, okay. Good. Not good that it's sore, but you found a little sore spot. So you can go ahead and you can stop and you can kind of just do little circles. You can just hold that thought or hold that uh the pressure with your thumb. I know it's harder with with nails, but yours looks like you're getting it done. Oh yeah. And then you can come out and continue on up, and then maybe bring your bring, you know. So we kind of went up along the bone. So maybe just come bring it out like into your palm a little tiny bit. That's still getting in. Oh, mine's really sore right there. So you can stop and kind of dig around in there, and then you're just gonna continue on up. That's crazy. The reflex point for the lower back area of your body. Yeah, I can feel some heat in my back. Yeah, and a lot of times that'll happen. The part of the body that you're reflexing on, um, on your hands or your feet or your ears, it you might feel different sensations in that the the body part that you're working on. So, you know, maybe you like you said, you felt some heat in that lower back area, or you might feel some tingling, or you might feel, you know, a release. And you would go ahead and you can do it on the other hand. But you can see how easy it is to do the self-uh care reflexology, you know, the reflexology on yourself. It's very we our hands, our hands and our ears are the easiest. We can do it on our feet. I'll demonstrate in the workshop on how we can do it on our feet too. It's just you have to be a little bindy flexy and be able to get your foot up onto your other leg. That wouldn't be easy. It's maybe difficult for some. So, but have no fear if that is you. Uh, that's a good point right there. Yeah, right here. I was like, wow. Yeah, I can feel it on my own, which makes sense because my back was a little sore this this morning. So um yeah, so the hands and the ears are very easily accessible, and you can do this in the grocery store. You're standing in line at the grocery store and you can start working on yourself. You're in kind of a stressful moment, you're in a uh in a grocery store where there's a lot of people and it's stressing you out. You can just, oh la la la la la. I know it's kind of funny sticking like just sticking her fingers in there because she doesn't want to hear us, but really you're working on those points. So it's just so easily accessible. And as you witnessed, it's it's it can't be in an immediate sensation. You can have almost an immediate relief with that.

SPEAKER_01

So that was like that was perfect. That was just yeah, I'm I'm I'm my mouth is relaxed, I can't even talk, but it's so good, it is so good, and you know, I can't like I can't wait until um the 16th to learn more. Um, like what better gift you can you give yourself than to learn how like some tips and some things to take care of yourself in between seeing your therapist, your professional, the you know, the ones to that can help you move through life. This we're all living life. Most of us are stressed out. Some we've all got some level of stress or anxiety. Some of have so like more or less or different things. So once again, you know, we are both inviting all of y'all to come in and learn these tips and these tricks, uh, not tricks, these these actually, they're not tips, they're actually, you know, how to do self uh reflexology. Just as Reiki Masters, you and I, we both do self Reiki healing as well. And so there, it's it's just wonderful, a wonderful gift you can give yourself. And so please go to the show notes.
